SCI: Custom Insights

WHAT IS IT?

SCI: Custom Insights is the consortium-powered side of Supply Chain Intelligence. It combines a shipper’s tender, volume, rate, and carrier performance data with SONAR market benchmarks to provide an ongoing view of transportation network performance.

Custom Insights is available exclusively to participating members of the SONAR Shipper Consortium. Consortium members contribute tender data that can include total volume tendered, accepted and rejected tenders, carrier information, rates, and other transportation activity. SONAR aggregates and analyzes this information to help each shipper better understand its own network.

The experience is organized into three primary areas:

Network Health for an executive-level view of network performance
Benchmarking for identifying lane-level opportunities, pricing alignment, and volume compliance
Network Optimization for analyzing markets and carrier performance

The original SCI workflow remains available under Manual Analysis for mini-bids, project freight, scenario analysis, or lanes that are not yet part of the shipper’s ongoing consortium data.

WHAT DOES IT TELL ME?

SCI: Custom Insights helps answer questions such as:

How is my transportation network performing overall?
How does my transportation spend compare with current market benchmarks?
Where am I paying above or below market?
Which lanes create the greatest savings opportunities or service risk?
Are carriers accepting the volume that was planned or awarded to them?
Where am I experiencing volume surges or shortfalls?
Which markets are creating the greatest cost or capacity exposure?
Which carriers may require additional attention?
Where should procurement or transportation teams prioritize action?

Rather than analyzing individual files one at a time, Custom Insights provides an ongoing view of the transportation network represented in the data being provided to the Shipper Consortium.
