Network View

WHAT IS IT?

The Network View offers a high-level summary of your transportation network, organized by unique origin or destination markets. Designed to spotlight inefficiencies and opportunities across your distribution centers and warehouses, this view makes it easy to identify the most challenging or cost-intensive regions of your network at a glance.

Whether you’re analyzing outbound pressure from a DC or reviewing inbound flows to a key facility, the Network View allows for fast, comparative analysis and prioritization.

What can you do in the Network View:

  • Compare average rates (My Rate, Contract, TRAC Spot) across origin/destination points
  • Identify problem areas with high over-market spend or volatile lane scores
  • Target cost-saving opportunities with actionable benchmarks by market
  • Drill into market-level insights such as rejections, trends, and intermodal shifts
  • Visualize network inefficiencies with the interactive Network Cost Opportunities Map

Key Metrics by Origin or Destination Market
Each market is summarized based on weighted averages and totals from your uploaded lanes:

  • Average My Rate – Weighted average of your linehaul rates (Total Spend ÷ Total Miles)
  • Average Contract Rate – Weighted average market contract rate, based on your lane volumes
  • Average TRAC Spot Rate – Weighted average of TRAC consortium spot rates, based on your data
  • Average Fuel Cost – Estimated using national DOE fuel index:
    • (DOE.USA – $1.20) ÷ 6.5 mpg
  • Overall Lane Score – Aggregated difficulty score across all lanes from/to that market
  • Total Miles – Total haul distance based on length of haul × volume
  • Total Spend – Total cost based on length of haul × My Rate × volume
  • Over Market Cost – Total spend above market benchmarks (renegotiation opportunity)
  • Under Market Cost – Total savings below market rates (potential compliance risk or savings validation)

Market Insights Sidebar
On the right-hand side of the Network View, you’ll find dynamic market-level data to enrich your analysis:

  • Outbound Rejection Rates – Capacity tightness indicator with 90-day and year-over-year changes
  • Key Market Trends – Week-over-week signal showing if a market is tightening or loosening
  • Intermodal Volumes – Rail freight trends with MoM and YoY comparisons
  • Volume Metrics – Indicates if the market is inbound or outbound-heavy, helping identify capacity risks and relative market importance across the 135 freight markets

Network Cost Opportunities Map
Quickly visualize rate challenges by lane by market. The interactive map displays all lanes from or to a selected market, color-coded by delta to contract. This powerful visual tool makes it easy to:

  • Spot over-market lanes draining budget
  • Highlight at-risk savings opportunities
  • Focus negotiation efforts on specific markets

The Network View bridges the gap between lane-level detail and strategic decision-making—empowering logistics leaders to proactively manage network performance, cost, and risk.
