The SONAR Map widget is a great way to look at the SONAR market breakdowns and see which markets are neighboring another.
Using the Map widget, you can see which neighboring markets are doing when searching datasets and really see how those markets may affect the market you are in.
Not only can you break the map down into markets, but you can also break it down to a state level, regional level, county level, PADD regions and view the market volatility as well.
The map widget will also allow you to overlay other important information on top of the SONAR data. You can turn on airports and seaports and view data points we have around them. You also have the ability to turn on the current radar and see what the current temperature is.
Lastly, the map widget lets you plot your own locations on the map to see which market your location lands in. You can do this under the Custom Layers drop down.
In order to upload your locations, you need to go to the Tools at the top right corner of SONAR, then click “My Map Layers”. There is a template you need to fill out, then upload back into SONAR, then your map layers will be available the next day.
The map widget allows you the ability to see our market breakdowns, you can see multiple data points at once by using the airports and seaports options.
